Description
What you see here is the Triforce Arcade Board (Type 1 version). This was found in arcade cabinets that ran the likes of Virtua Striker 2002 and the legendary F-Zero AX! Although the unit itself is in working order, I'll be needing several more parts to make it functional, namely:
A DIMM/RAM Module
A GD-ROM drive
Power Supply
All necessary cables
A copy of either Virtua Striker or F-Zero AX (the latter will probably be IMPOSSIBLE)
Why did I get this? To own a piece of gaming history, that's why!
Why is it called "Triforce"? It's a nod to "The Legend of Zelda" franchise and also symbolises the three companies involved in the board, NAMCO-SEGA-NINTENDO
The Triforce is actually a modified GameCube, just with better specs. No it cannot run GCN games as although built on the same hardware: A. There is no mini-disk drive for GCN disks and B. Since the Triforce has higher specs than the GCN, GCN games would not cope with the new specs.
Hopefully I can find all of the above and get it up and running.
Lastly, it's got quite a weight to it too!
